After deep consultation, and with the welfare of all in mind, the Church Council has decided that from next Sunday, public worship at Armadale Uniting Church will cease for the foreseeable future.
This may seem a draconian measure, but it is in line with similar decisions taken by other churches and many other bodies. At the moment we have no way of knowing how long this situation will continue – but it may be months rather than weeks.
In the interval, our concern will be for us to have ways of keeping in touch with each other and ensuring that pastoral support is available when needed. The Council is exploring effective ways of doing this.
Nevertheless, the church doors will be open for two hours on Sundays from 9.30 a.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. Any member of the congregation or public can use the space for private prayer there if they wish.
Shortly we will send you by email some more information about worship this Sunday which we hope you will read and participate in. This will include an attachment to Ian Thomas’s sermon and other material.
The Council will keep you informed of future developments. If you have any immediate queries or concerns, please phone Fiona 0403 662 786 or Bill 0428 928 929.
Bill Rush (Chair of Church Council).
